    Yuugi Hoshiguma
    Analysis: Yuugi Hoshiguma 3901134773

Type: Analysis: Yuugi Hoshiguma 3145953140 Analysis: Yuugi Hoshiguma 850786843
    HP: 90
    Attack: 160
    Defense: 180
    Special Attack: 20
    Special Defense: 40
    Speed: 45
    Abilities: Defiant / Pressure
    Tier: Fundex OU

Yuugi has a massive appeal in her Physical offense and Physical defense. Base 160 Attack is nothing to laugh at, and with such a wide physical movepool, Yuugi can use this to her full potential. Defiant is the ability of the day here. Yuugi can come in, soak up any debuffs and scare out the opponent with the +2 Attack increase. However, Yuugi cannot perform well against Special attackers, and has an unabusable Speed stat.

    "Deva of the Mountain"
    Yuugi Hoshiguma (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Defiant
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat / Brick Break
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Stealth Rock

This set allows Yuugi to take Physical hits and huge amounts of damage. Close Combat is used over KO in Three Steps as it lets Yuugi stay in longer and Brick Break is weaker but lets Yuugi keep her Physical Defense. Earthquake and Stone Edge is the standard Edgequake combo - Whatever Earthquake doesn't hit, Stone Edge will. Stone Edge deals with flying types, such as Marisa, that will try try to switch in and force Yuugi out with Aeroblast.

    "Ruling the Tengu"
    Yuugi Hoshiguma (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Defiant / Pressure
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat / Brick Break
    - Earthquake / Stone Edge
    - Bulk Up / Swords Dance
    - Substitute

This set is best used once you have gotten rid of anything that may wall Yuugi, such as Andross. The idea is simple: Set up a Substitute, use Bulk Up/Swords Dance, hit harder. Because of Substitute supressing some stat drops, it may be ideal to use Pressure over Defiant. However, Defiant still gives Yuugi better switch-ins (e.g. Medicine's Suzuran Poison). Close Combat is an amazing STAB move, but use Brick Break if you prefer not losing stats. Earthquake is a strong stab, whilst Stone Edge allows Yuugi to hit Flying types for Super Effective damage. Use Bulk Up if you want to survive more, although it counteracts with Close Combat. Swords Dance gives an immediate power boost.

    "Praising the Kappa"
Yuugi Hoshiguma (F) @ Choice Band
    Ability: Defiant
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - KO in Three Steps / Close Combat
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Iron Head / X-Scissor / Shadow Claw

Using her amazing Attack Stat and movepool, Yuugi can run a pretty good Choice Band set. KO in Three Steps is used in a "Hit and Run" nature, whilst Close Combat let's Yuugi keep her monstrous Attack, but makes her more susceptible to hits. Edgequake are used as usual and the last moveslot is used for whatever you need coverage on. Iron Head hits Andross, X-Scissor hits Psychic and Grass-Types whilst Shadow Claw hits Psychic and Ghost types, but is weaker than X-Scissor.

    "Kappa's Tengu Flight Simulator"
Yuugi Hoshiguma (F) @ Leftovers / Life Orb
    Ability: Defiant
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
    Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
    - Close Combat
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge
    - Rock Polish

This set is used to make Yuugi's low Speed stat somewhat higher. A Jolly Yuugi, after one Rock Polish, reaches 414 Speed. This enough to outspeed Timid Zalgo, which is quite good. The moves are standard to ensure power and coverage in one. Close Combat over KO in Three Steps so Yuugi can stay in. Leftovers/Life Orb can be chosen depending on whether you want Yuugi to hit hard or to be able to stay alive.

    Checks and Counters
Andross is immune to Earthquake and has high Physical defense, so Yuugi cannot deal much damage as Andross sets up. Achmed is immune to the Fighting STAB and resists Stone Edge, so can come in and set up. A lot of special attackers can easily KO Yuugi, but they have to watch out for strong physical attacks e.g. Marisa, Sakuya and Cirno.
